Axis War Heroes: Joachim Peiper
Pfeifer over ran all the allied defenses with a very small force of 1/10 the man force but ran out of fuel and abandoned an entire tank battalion about 500-mts from an American fuel tank. Pfeifer didn't know about this, then. He returned and again ran short of fuel. The Allieds were incompetent and lucky.
